A Day on The Town

It was hot, but it wasn’t miserable. This week I spent a few days with one of my best friends. Despite the blistering summer sun, we had such a great time catching up and exploring downtown.

Knowing we were going to be walking around and shopping, I wanted to stay comfortable. For me, that means a summer dress. This white linen dress is three sizes bigger than my normal size, but I love how it looks oversized. Light and airy, it’s a perfect look for a hot day out.

Paired with my beloved booties, I felt like the outfit was almost complete. My purple sparkle socks, though possibly a controversial fashion move, is such a “Rachel” statement. Fashion is a way of expressing yourself. Though keeping this outfit monochromatic would be quite chic, I don’t think it would be as much fun.

My Fossil messenger bag is one of my oldest, and loved bags. The worn, tan leather make it summery and casual. With an outfit like this it’s always the accessories that take it from dressed-up to casual.

As they say: when you look good, you feel good. This simple outfit made me feel comfortable, put-together, and ready for the day. And ultimately, it really was a great day.

  1. Lovely boots and they look so comfy too

  2. I love your outfit! Even though you mention the dress is three sizes too big, it looks to be a perfect fit! I noticed your tattoo as well. Mine are on the backs of my arms because I’ve always heard that inner arm area hurts!

Thank you! Yeah, the dress is cut so well that even though it’s technically a larger size it lays nicely. And yes, the inner arm hurt pretty bad in some areas but it was definitely worth it!
