Bring on the crop tops and messy buns because the sunshine has arrived. I was hoping for a hint of summer warmth back in April and finally Mother Nature answered, but with 90 degree heat and tough winds. You win some, you lose some, right?
Summer fashion has always been tricky for me. I am no match for hot summers where clothes either stick on like a second skin or become ridden with stains of sweat. Building a comfortable, yet stylish summer wardrobe has been my top priority for years.
One thing I have found to be helpful is having a strong collection of essentials. Mixing and matching, and using old favorites in new ways are defining factors of a solid wardrobe. Typically, I’ll buy my clothing items in neutral colors. I’ll use bold accessories such as jackets, sweaters, bags, and shoes to add some spice.
For me, summer trends are hardly ever worth it. In my eyes, crop-tops, gladiator sandals, and cross-bodies will always be perfect for a comfortable, functional, and stylish summer wardrobe.
