Where has the time gone? It’s been nearly eight weeks since I’ve left Manhattan. I feel like it wasn’t so long ago that I was hurriedly finishing my statistics exam in order to catch my bus, ready to leave the stench of humid pollution. But here I am anxiously waiting to get back. Only seven weeks of suburbia until the great return to the City of Dreams, the City That Never Sleeps, the Big Apple. I remember feeling the need to come home. And I so needed it. I’ve made myself new goals, slept so much, and have enjoyed the pleasantries of open space.
This summer has proven to be all about regaining my balance and restoring hope. I’m learning to appreciate the past, learn from it, and grow. And while at some point I do plan to part ways with all crop-tops and very old, white Guess sandals – for now I am trying to make the best of what I have.
